About Nudge

Who builds Nudge

Nudge is built by Nitul Shah (@nituls265 on GitHub), as a personal, pre-release project.

Nitul Shah has more than a decade of experience building software products, holds a Master of Science in Software Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and has an undergraduate degree in computer engineering.

Nitul is building Nudge to help people who value their time stay in control of addictive, doomscroll-prone apps.

Why Nudge exists

Nudge exists to protect people's time from addictive, doomscroll-prone apps. It gives you an honest, on-device view of how much you scroll, a daily wellness score, and a nudge to stop, without sending that data anywhere by default.

Open source and privacy-first

Nudge's source is published under the Apache License 2.0. It has no account, no ads, and no required trackers: your scroll and usage history lives in a local database on your phone. Anonymous analytics are opt-in and off by default, and the build linked from this site has them removed entirely. See the Privacy and permissions section on the home page, and the "Privacy & telemetry" section of the README, for the full picture.
